
Dragan Šagovnović
Dragan Šagovnović was born in Zemun, where he completed primary school “Svetozar Miletić” and Zemun Gymnasium. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics of the state University of Belgrade.
His professional path today represents a rare example of institutional dedication and continuity, with a crucial contribution to the survival and development of the Economics Institute. Thirty out of thirty years of his career have been devoted to the Institute. Thirty out of the Institute’s eighty-year history are an inseparable part of it. Within the Institute, he has worked as a trainee, researcher, project manager, director of consulting, executive director, director general, and president of the Shareholders’ Assembly.
The Economics Institute is part of the Serbian scientific and advisory heritage. It is an accredited research and development institute and one of the oldest regional consulting firms. Numerous academicians, professors, scientific advisors, university rectors, business leaders who marked their eras, and holders of the highest offices in the country and abroad have participated in the Institute’s work. The Institute has made a significant contribution to the activities of various organizations such as the Serbian Business Club “Privrednik,” the Serbian Economists Association, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Serbian Association of Managers, and many others. The Institute’s clients have been and continue to be numerous domestic and international companies and institutions.
In addition to his engagement at the Institute, he is the Honorary Consul of Georgia in Serbia, a platinum member of the Serbian Business Club “Privrednik,” a member of the Presidency of the Serbian Economists Association, and a member of the Serbian Association of Managers.
He has served as a member of the governing bodies of several companies in Serbia and as a member of the Council of the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.
He is the author of several papers and a participant in numerous conferences in the country and abroad.
He has never been employed in a state-owned company or public administration. He has never been a member of any political party.
And before and above all, he is the son of Anđelko and Miljanka, and the father of Petar and Vasilije.
