The seventh Jahorina Economic Forum has concluded; About 100 experts from various fields spoke on 15 panels.
The seventh Jahorina Economic Forum concluded today with the panel “Conversation with the Prime Minister,” in which the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, participated.
Several conclusions were reached at the forum, which will be presented to the Government of Republika Srpska, and if necessary, they will also be deliberated by the members of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
Goran Račić, President of the Organizing Committee of the Jahorina Economic Forum, stated that he considers the forum highly successful. He highlighted that certain conclusions will be of interest to countries in the region.
“The long-term development directions of the Western Balkans were the themes running through all 15 panels, and we sought ways to integrate the region economically and to eliminate unnecessary procedures that currently burden business operations and increase costs,” said Račić.
He added that discussions with panelists focused on specific projects crucial for the development and better utilization of the country’s resources, including topics such as tourism and artificial intelligence. Račić praised the competence of the participants, considering them among the most qualified speakers from the entire region.
“Our ambition is for this forum to transcend Bosnia and Herzegovina and become a platform that attempts to dictate certain trends regionally,” stated Račić.
He emphasized the forum’s aim to seek common integration models for the entire region in the coming years, as it is essential for elevating the economy. Račić specified that the goal is to raise the living standards of citizens to a level comparable to that of developed countries.
Račić expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Radovan Višković, who traditionally conceives certain topics and questions in one panel discussion with business representatives.
He mentioned with pride the successful collaboration with the international company “SHP Celeks,” with which the Government of Republika Srpska signed a cooperation protocol for a five-year investment amounting to 120 million euros.
Prime Minister Radovan Višković commended the forum’s organizers, emphasizing the importance of having competent individuals at the event who can provide insight into key issues for creating a more favorable business environment.
Višković, who held discussions with Mohammed Asiri from the Office of the Economic Attaché at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in London, responsible for the Balkans, on the sidelines of the Jahorina Economic Forum, stated that Republika Srpska is open to foreign investments. He offered institutional and local community assistance for potential project implementations.
Višković and Asiri discussed the existing cooperation between Republika Srpska and Saudi Arabia, as well as opportunities for expansion in various sectors.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Banja Luka, Goran Račić, and the President of the Organizing Committee of the Jahorina Economic Forum.
Over the course of the three-day forum, approximately 100 experts spoke on all topics relevant to the Balkans and long-term development plans across 15 panels. The forum gathered 600 participants.
