Veselin Jevrosimović
Veselin Jevrosimović is the President and owner of the Comtrade Group, a successful IT company headquartered in Belgrade. He is also the President of the Serbian Business Club “Privrednik” and the Athletics Federation of Serbia.
He earned his degree as an IT engineer at the College of Applied Studies for Information Technologies in Belgrade, and in 1986, he became a co-owner of an IT equipment distribution company in Germany. Maintaining contacts from his studies, he soon began distributing computers and IT equipment, which led to a partnership with CHS Electronics in the 1990s.
In parallel with his business activities in Germany and the USA, he founded the Comtrade Group in Serbia in 1991, which would grow into one of the largest IT organizations in Southeastern Europe.
In 1996, CHS Electronics became the second-largest IT equipment distribution company in the world by volume, with an annual turnover of $12.5 billion. Later that year, Jevrosimović sold his shares in the company and returned to Serbia to focus on the development of the Comtrade Group. Thanks to his accomplishments at CHS, he secured contracts with the world’s leading IT companies and soon positioned Comtrade as the leading distributor in the region.
As part of his regional expansion strategy, Veselin Jevrosimović founded a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1997, and later expanded the business network to Montenegro, North Macedonia, Croatia, and Albania. In 2008, he acquired Slovenia’s largest software company, Hermes Softlab, opening a new chapter in Comtrade’s development, focused on engineering and software development.
This evolution began in 2000 when Jevrosimović founded Spinnaker, a systems integration company that was later renamed Comtrade System Integration.
In 2004, Jevrosimović purchased a property in New Belgrade and transformed it into the Comtrade Technology Center by 2006 – the first “IT campus” in the region. There, he continued to develop the company’s IT expertise and invest in the growth of regional IT professionals.
Since 2010, Jevrosimović has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the global market of IT solution development and implementation. Comtrade has become a world leader in tools for backup and data recovery, customized digital transformation solutions, and large-scale data processing, earning the trust of clients such as Microsoft, HP, Citrix, and Nutanix. Recognizing the quality of Comtrade’s data storage solutions, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) selected Comtrade as a member of the CERN OpenLab, which includes only about ten globally recognized companies.
Today, the Comtrade Group comprises 32 companies in 15 countries and employs more than 4,000 people.
