Jelena Trivan
Dr. Jelena Trivan was born in 1973. She graduated and obtained her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade.
Until 2000, she worked as a literature professor at the First Kragujevac Gymnasium. From 2000 to 2006, she served as the Deputy Minister in the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights.
During her tenure as Deputy Minister, she led the Negotiating Team of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro for concluding Agreements on National Minorities with neighboring countries and readmission agreements with European Union countries.
She co-chaired intergovernmental commissions for the protection of national minorities with Croatia, Hungary, and Romania and led the team for drafting the Law on National Minorities and the Law on National Minority Councils.
Since 2004, she represented Serbia in the Committee on Human Rights of the Council of Europe, monitoring human rights conditions in Council of Europe member states.
She received the “The Man of the Year” award for 2011.
From 2007 to 2014, she was a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, where she chaired the Committee on Culture and Information. She was a member of the Committee on European Integration and the Inter-Parliamentary Delegation between the European Parliament and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
In the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, she was the President of the Friendship Group with the Netherlands.
She was a member of the Program Board of RTS since 2013.
In 2017, she received the Manager of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, as well as the annual awards from the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade, “Belgrade Winner for 2018” for her achievements in the economy.
From January 27, 2015, she served as the Director of the Public Enterprise “Official Gazette.”
She served as the President of the Board of the Serbian Film Center since 2018.
Since 2022, she has been an active member of the UNICEF BiH Business Advisory Council.
The company’s board of directors appointed Dr. Jelena Trivan as the CEO of Mtela a.d. Banja Luka as of September 15, 2021.
